Winston

Almost two years ago, in February of 2012, Chris and I went down to Idaho Falls to look for a shotgun for Chris. We were both excited to get out of the house as it was a beautiful, clear, and cold February day in Idaho.

We got to the store, Sportsman's Warehouse, and were headed inside. In Idaho because of the cold weather there are usually two sets of doors that you have to walk through. There in the breezeway was a man holding the cutest little shivering puppy. The moment I saw this puppy I lit up like a candle stick. The breeder was even taken by surprise by my reaction. It was love at first sight! I knew in that moment we weren't leaving with a shotgun, but rather the cutest puppy alive.

Chris and I had been talking about getting a puppy for some time and we knew we wanted one, but our apartment didn't allow dogs and so we just didn't think that it was going to be happening anytime soon.

Lucky for ME our apartment had just been bought out and was going to be torn down to make room for a larger apartment complex.

I knew that it would be okay if we got this puppy!

After some time making phone calls, we decided to just go ahead and get the most ADORABLE puppy EVER!!

Chris won't admit to "love at first sight", but we all know that it was because otherwise we wouldn't have gone home with the CUTEST puppy EVER!

We named Winston before we had even finished paying. It was just the perfect name! We couldn't have decided on something better ourselves. This sweet old lady and her husband were looking at Winston too, but we beat them to the punch. She was so kind and when we asked each other about names, she said, "Winston", in her British accent. It was just so PERFECT!

As we were leaving with Winston, Chris was holding his new bird dog and I was so excited that I squealed and jumped for joy. Apparently I was too loud because I scared Winston and he peed all over Chris. The poor guy must not have peed all day because it just kept coming! That being said, Chris was then forced to hold Winston while we went to petsmart to get all the things you need for a brand new puppy!!
From the moment we got him he was so photogenic. He would always look at the camera if I said his name and he always looks so handsome!

Although Winston is a dog he will always be considered my baby. I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him. He makes me happy, he makes me laugh, he even makes me mad (for like .7 seconds), he is always there to be so excited when I come home. He gives me love kisses and he curls up to cuddled with me like no one else can.

I love my dog.

He is spoiled. The first night we had him I let him sleep on my head. I can barely ever resist to give him a bite of whatever I'm eating (unless of course, I know it is bad for dogs to eat. i.e. grapes, nuts...etc.) He just looks at me with those blue eyes and I melt every time. He sleeps on my bed, and when he is cold he even sleeps under the covers. He gets just about anything he wants and way more than he needs. As for now he is an only child and everyone knows that only children are spoiled.

If you have followed me at all on Facebook or Instagram you would see that I clearly take way too many pictures of my dog and I'll be honest, I resist about half the time so I have double the pictures on my phone and computer.

He was cold so he cuddled up sleeping with dad.

My cuddle bug!

Look at that cute little nose!! Oh I just can't handle his cuteness!
He is a total toy hog, always and forever. Even when there is no one to share with.
Do you see what I mean? He is so photogenic!!

He loves to be wrapped in the covers.

I can't help it if I have the cutest dog in the world. He truly is so good and Chris and I love him more than words can express. He's just my Winston!!

AF BMT Graduation Day 5

The last day we went to Church with Chris and it was pretty neat. They only do Sunday school and sacrament. I guess because they only have limited time with the airmen. I don't think that I have ever been so cold before in my life. I seriously felt like I was in an ice box the whole time we were in the chapel. It was awful! I tried to go outside to warm up, but that didn't help because it was the one day that it was cool in the morning! Just my luck!

After church we decided to go and get some pictures of Chris while we was in his Blues and then we went to lunch. LeAnn had to leave around noon to catch her flight back to Idaho. I was leaving on Monday morning and so Chris and I spent the rest of the day hanging out at the hotel. He had a town pass for Sunday because he got Warrior Flight, but we didn't have a car once LeAnn left and so there was no reason in trying to go somewhere else.

He was so handsome! We ended up saying goodbye just before 6 because he needed to be back. I didn't know, but everyday at 5:30pm they play the national anthem over loud speakers and everyone stops and faces towards the nearest flag or the speaker. It was pretty cool. I would have to say that my respect and gratitude have increases for all service members and their families because now I understand more what it is like. I am grateful to live in a free country and I am grateful for all of the service members who have fought and worked to protect it.
I'm so excited for our new adventure in the Air Force and I can't wait to see Chris again!
