Two Weeks Till Graduation

Well, it's about time I make another post! So much has happened since my last one, and I apologize for not being better at keeping up to date. I have been working on my blog though. For those who have seen it before, you can tell, it's really gotten a facelift. I even changed my name. This is serious business, blogging that is.

Before Chris joined the Air Force and we knew that I was going to be living at home with my family I thought to myself. This is going to be great! I'm just going to be able to relax after all this college business and work on crafts and cooking and playing with my pup. Boy oh boy was I wrong! It all started with the two volleyball jobs, which I was totally excited about because it would give me something else to do in the afternoon and it would get me out of the house. After the first week of volleyball I got a phone call from the Headmaster and he asked me to be the receptionist until they could find someone more permanent. Of course I took the job, but I had no idea how much work it would be! Two weeks before school starts and filing from the last two years.... oh yeah, I've been busy! Sadly, I come home so exhausted after volleyball in the evenings that I can't even think about working on one of the many sewing projects I've already started! My mother's dining room table is confiscated until I can get some time.

The good news is that next Friday, September 20th is my last day as the receptionist and from there all I have to do is be a volleyball coach! I love my team! The girls are so cute and they try so hard! My seventh graders are so sweet and I'm really starting to love them! My varsity team is really good. I'm hoping that we can start winning some of our games though. The girls just need to work on keeping up their energy and firing each other up!!

The really good news is that this time in two weeks I will be with my husband again!!!! AHHHH!! I'm just so excited to see him I can hardly wait! He's so amazing! He has been working so hard... I think now would be a good time to move into an update about him, so here it goes....

In his latest letter he wrote that he is beginning BEAST week and won't be able to write me until Saturday! (Sad day.)   Last Friday, his Flight did CBRNE, i.e. gas chamber! They got all geared up and put masks on, they did some jumping jacks and then they took off their masks!! (I'm really glad I wasn't there to watch.) He said that it burned his eyes and his throat. He doesn't want to do it again, but now he knows what it is like to be gased. So with BEAST week it is mach deployment. They go to the edge of the base and they do a bunch of training and stuff, I guess.

Chris writes me about twice a week and it is nice to stay in touch with him. Nothing really changes in what they do. It is all very routine and orderly. They have lots of inspections and get punished when they fail. Being the Element Leader is hard because he's responsible for everything that his element does. He is up late every night writing reports and checking everything for the next day. He has to be on top of everything and it is a lot of work. I can tell that Chris is stressed and tired, but he writes that he really enjoys being in the Air Force. I'm sure that things will get a lot better for him once he is out of BMT. He says that he is learning a lot. There is constantly new information to memorize and things to do. He is staying busy, which is good. His Flight has had some trouble coming together and they have been put back into their running shoes twice through BMT. Chris says it's embarrassing, but I'm sure that they aren't the only Flight that has troubles uniting. Lots of the guys in his Flight are just out of High School and so they are still really young, not to say Chris isn't young, he's just more experienced and mature.

I'm so excited to see him in two weeks! I have already gone shopping to get new clothes to look all cute for pictures and Chris. I have even bought a new camera! I'm so excited about it! I bought a D7100 with a 200 lens. It was such a good deal I just had to get it! I'm really excited to learn more about how to use it before Chris's graduation. I'm really hoping that I'll be able to take some awesome pictures! It will be so nice to have it in the future too, with kids and family events and everything that I wish I had a nice camera for before! Speaking of pictures! I wish that I could add more to these posts about Chris because I know that I like the visual relief from reading, but I don't have any....yet. Chris is buying a package of pictures and a DVD from his training at BMT. I'm actually really excited to see it!

I love him so much and I can't wait to see him. Just after about half way through things started to get a lot harder. I missed him more, I wasn't getting along as well with my family, all I wanted was to have a hug from Chris, but with the end in sight now I have regained my focus and we are going to make it through this whole experience and come out even stronger as a couple!!

Keep him in your prayers and write him if you can, he would love the letters!
